BCSIR Gateway

A simple linear form has been considered as the gateway for Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), same as the basic activity of the organization to provide easy and efficient solution for the scientific and industrial growth. The site is located at Elephant Road a popular shopping street of Dhaka town. Inside the campus the entry way faces two similar building designed by eminent Architect Mazharul Islam, that have projected floor from upper levels creating floating effects. To preserve the visual emotion of the internal building of the campus, the rectangular form has been uplifted from the ground to make the gateway. Responding to the requirement of the client upper floor is designed for commercial space having transparent glass surfaces facing road & the premises to keep in vibe with the adjacent area. At ground level there is reception, lobby & miniature museum for the visitors. Here the form articulates the emotional association of the context. The gateway becomes new version of the older structures.
