Water Poetry

জলের কবিতা

This guest house stands on Kopotakkho River Sagardari at Keshabpur, Jashore near the home of famous Banla Poet Micheal Modhusudon Dutta. Once the poet wrote a poetry on that river called “Kopotakkho Nod” expressing his emotional attachment with the river, which is widely popular creation of the poet. So it became fascinating to design the guest house at context that pre-existed in mind. The wavy lines of river water have been translated into varied floor slabs that compose a ship like structure, appear like a ship floating on water. Each room has panoramic view towards the river. Open terraces and roof top have deliberate plantation. The design speaks about the emotional context, make a place to stay and feel the conversation with the surrounding landscape.
